How does EMNA benchmark our brand’s current AI visibility?
EMNA’s Market Intelligence analyses answers generated for selected prompts to show where your brand appears, how it compares with competitors and which sources are cited.
The analysis can break down visibility by AI platform and identify the brands, products and features discussed in the responses. This provides a starting point for investigating where your brand is present, absent or appearing behind competitors.
The benchmark describes the answers included in the analysis. Its meaning depends on the prompts, platforms and scope selected; it does not represent every customer conversation or every answer an AI platform produces.
How does EMNA choose the prompts to monitor?
EMNA develops priority prompts around your category, products, audience and commercial objectives. We agree questions that reflect the decisions you want to influence, including discovery and comparison questions that do not already name your brand.
For a flower retailer, these might cover general recommendations, birthday delivery, a specific budget or same-day availability. Each question represents a different information need and may reveal different competitors or sources.
We distinguish the selected keywords and themes from the actual prompts used for analysis. If the prompt set changes, results should be compared with that change in mind.
What is the difference between AI Share of Voice, visibility and answer position?
These measures describe different aspects of your presence in monitored answers.
AI Share of Voice expresses your brand’s share within the brand mentions counted by the analysis. Visibility describes how consistently your brand appears across the responses being assessed. Answer position describes where it appears within those answers.
A brand can appear in several responses while accounting for a relatively small share of all the brands mentioned. It can also appear frequently but lower down a list of recommendations.
EMNA considers these measures together. The reporting scope and counting method matter, so the figures should be interpreted alongside the selected prompts, platforms and competitors.
Can EMNA identify the publishers and content cited in AI answers?
Yes. Market Intelligence identifies cited websites and specific URLs within the analysed responses, alongside citation and visibility information.
This helps the team investigate the pages associated with your priority questions. A comparison article, for example, may reveal which product facts or selection criteria are being discussed when competitors appear.
The report can also identify sources associated with EMNA’s network, providing a starting point for exploring activation opportunities. A network connection does not mean every site or page is available for a campaign; suitability and participation need to be established.
Citations show sources referenced in the observed answers, rather than every factor behind the recommendation.
How do Market Intelligence findings shape our campaign?
EMNA’s team interprets the findings and translates relevant opportunities into content recommendations and publisher briefs.
For example, if your brand appears for general category questions but is absent from budget-specific answers, we can investigate whether the cited content provides information about pricing, additional costs or suitable product options that your existing coverage lacks.
That finding can guide the subject of a campaign, the evidence required in a brief and the type of publisher to approach. We review subsequent answers and citations to inform further work.
You receive the findings through reports and review calls as part of EMNA’s managed service.
